Our Vision
Live with Purpose. Show Hope. Bless.
Our vision is to encourage and enable the calling of God in everyone’s lives as they live out the purposes they have been given by God. In everything that we do, we show the hope of Jesus Christ and the promise of purpose He will give to those who believe and follow Him. And as people of love and ambassadors to the Kingdom of God, we walk with the command to bless others in everything that we do.
Above all, we are resolute that Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.
Our Core Values
Learning
As a church we value the reality that those in relationship with Jesus Christ have the ability to hear from God and teach according to their experience. In everything we go back to our foundation in the Bible. We believe that the Word of God is the basis to all truth and growth. Truth is revealed by God through the Bible, so we carefully study God’s Word as the authoritative standard for living. Through Scripture the Holy Spirit instructs us in our daily lives and with others for the purpose of life change. (Acts 17:11; Romans 6:8; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; James 1:23-25; 2 Peter 1:20-21).
Worship
Our primary purpose in life is to enter into deep relationship with our Father. We believe in our hope in Jesus Christ, and joyfully express our whole-hearted love to Him. We believe that men and women are made in the good image of God and are to be representatives of His Kingdom in all things that we do. Therefore, we worship God by enjoying our daily lives, interacting with our community as His ambassadors, as well as through prayer, music, gifts and talents He has given us. (Genesis 1:27; Matthew 16:16, Mark 12:29-30, John 4:23, Romans 12:1, James 2:23).
Authentic Community
We acknowledge our brokenness and the redeeming power of God’s grace, and that our life stories are a source of encouragement to one another. We strive to live in genuine openness, integrity, humility, and transparency. We believe that authentic discipleship is at the core of community. Authentic discipleship is not about being perfect or following a set of rules, but rather about being a group of people covered by the forgiveness of Jesus Christ, and walking towards a Christ-centered life. Discipleship starts with leading our families in God’s truth and grace, encouraging our friends and neighbors that they are also valued and have purpose, and pushing each other to grow in all aspects of our lives. (Proverbs 27:17; Matthew 7:1-2; 28:18-20; Mark 12:31; Acts 2:44-45; Romans 12:3, Galatians 5:24-26, Philippians 2:3-5, James 5:13-16).
Reaching Out
Jesus Christ laid down his life as the ultimate example of the fullness of God’s love. Authentic devotion to him calls us to sacrifice of ourselves and be a blessing to those around us. As a community of Christ’s followers we commit ourselves to a lifestyle of generosity that influences our relationships, finances, time and perspectives, and allowing the Kingdom of Heaven to flourish. We also continue in the tradition that God blessed Abraham in order to be a blessing the nations (Genesis 12:2, Micah 6:8, Matthew 10:39; Luke 4:18-19; John 15:13; James 2:17; 1 John 3:16).
Diversity
Sin fractured friendship between God and humanity. Our responsibility is to help repair friendships among all cultures, locally and globally. Because Jesus shows love to everyone, we embrace the beauty of languages, nationalities, and traditions that make up our community. We respect the differences that we have, amongst men and women, races, and ethnicities and acknowledge the struggles and triumphs that all people endure. We recognize the wisdom of every generation, the importance of family, and the need for people to speak truth into each other’s lives. Together we experience the love of God, grow in our faith, and learn to introduce Christ to all people (Deuteronomy 6:6-9; Matthew 18:10-14; John 3:16-17, John 20:21, 2 Corinthians 5:18-21, 1 Timothy 4:12; 2 Timothy 2:1-3; Titus 2:3-5; 1 Peter 5:5, Rev 7:9).
